Learn, improve & enjoy music.

Welcome

As a teacher and educator, I create a personalised and engaging learning experience for students of all ages and all levels.

I believe that teaching is not just about imparting knowledge but inspiring curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

Whether guiding a beginner through their first chords or mentoring an advanced player refining their technique, I strive to make every lesson inspiring, approachable, and rewarding.

My students don’t just learn to play music—they develop the tools to create, innovate, and connect through it.

Teaching philosophy

Each student learns at their own pace, which is why my music lessons are highly personalized to meet individual needs and learning styles.

I tailor my approach to each student

I incorporate a diverse range of resources to make the learning process engaging and dynamic. Since we all absorb information through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic experiences, I select the most effective tools for a steady development.

For children

For children, lessons include memory and imitation games, integrated with the Suzuki methodology. Kinesthetic and experiential learning techniques are woven into every session to enhance understanding and engagement.

Students preparing for auditions, competitions, or exams

Particularly for classical musicians, I take a more traditional approach, emphasising sight-reading, technical proficiency, and repertoire development.

Popular music

For those aspiring to play popular music, I focus on ear training, improvisation, and the use of music technology to foster creativity and versatility.

Integration

By integrating these various approaches, I ensure that each student's strengths are maximized, helping them develop a deep and intuitive understanding of music.

  • "I had always wanted to write songs, but didn't have any musical knowledge, and didn't want to play an instrument. I contacted Daniel, and he has taken me on a journey through using Ableton Live software in depth and teaching me the required bits of music theory, as required, to understand why things sound good. He always keeps it fun, and we explore different genres and styles that interest me in our music lessons. I highly recommend Daniel if you’re looking to channel your musical creativity and need guidance to bring it to life."

    Bruce M.

  • “As a dedicated novice, there are many things I wouldn't even notice about my technique if Daniel didn't point them out to me in a constructive way. He is very patient and clear with his guidance and always seems to find the right songs for me to practise, finding the right balance to keep my skills progressing while making sure I enjoy playing regularly.”

    Chris H.

  • 'I’ve had several guitar teachers over the years but I’ve found I’m learning best from Daniel and his approach to teaching. He’s getting the most out of me because he pays careful attention to what I can and can’t do, then gives me instructions to help me move closer and closer to my goals. Every lesson I feel I’m getting somewhere. Finally I can see how to continue progressing and building my guitar playing capabilities!'

    Julie S.

  • "Daniel transformed my understanding of digital music production in Ableton through his extraordinary teaching ability. His teaching style breaks down his complex and extensive knowledge into bite-sized chunks - perfect for a beginner like me."

    Jeremy M.

  • "I have been remotely learning Ableton and music theory from Daniel for 12 years (2 to 4 lessons per month). I find myself listening to my own songs, and proudly sharing them with friends. He still makes each lesson enjoyable - to the extent that they seem more like collaboration sessions!"
